By downloading, creating an account on, or using AmigoBill, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app. Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
1. Who We Are
AmigoBill is operated by Karam Afandi, registered as an individual entrepreneur in the Republic of Azerbaijan, taxpayer identification number (VÖEN) 4202431092. In these terms, “we”, “us”, and “AmigoBill” refer to that operator, and “you” refers to the person using the app.
You can reach us at karam@amigobill.app.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
These terms apply to the AmigoBill mobile application on iOS and Android and to this website. They take effect the first time you use the app and remain in effect for as long as you have an account.
Your use of the app is also subject to the rules of the store you downloaded it from — the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or the Google Play Terms of Service. Where a store rule conflicts with these terms in a way that affects your purchase, the store rule governs the purchase.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that age is higher, to create an AmigoBill account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and only they may purchase a subscription.
4. Your Account
- You may register with a username and password, or sign in with Google or Apple.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account.
- The information you provide must be accurate. Do not impersonate another person or create an account on someone else’s behalf without their permission.
- Tell us promptly if you believe someone has gained access to your account.
5. What AmigoBill Does
AmigoBill helps groups record and divide shared expenses. Depending on the version you are running, the app lets you:
- Create events — trips, gatherings, or other groupings — and add friends to them
- Log expenses by category, choose who paid, and choose how the amount is split
- Attach receipts and files to an expense
- Log expenses in multiple currencies and view summaries converted to a base currency you choose
- See settlement suggestions — a short list of who owes whom
- Generate AI-assisted trip itineraries, save them, and share them
- Collect country stamps in the Travel Passport
- Receive push notifications about activity relevant to you
Features may be added, changed, or removed over time, as described in section 16.
6. Not a Financial Service
This is important, so it is stated plainly: AmigoBill is an informational record-keeping tool, not a financial service.
- We do not transfer money between users, hold funds, process payments between users, or act as an escrow, payment institution, or money transmitter.
- The balances, debts, and settlement suggestions shown in the app are calculations based on what users entered. They are informational only and do not create, prove, or discharge any legal obligation between you and anyone else.
- Actual payments between you and other participants happen entirely outside AmigoBill and are solely your own responsibility. We are not a party to them and cannot recover, refund, or enforce them.
- We do not verify that the amounts, splits, or claims entered by users are accurate or honest.
Nothing in the app is financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice.
7. Your Content
The expenses, event details, receipts, files, and other content you add remain yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, transmit, and display that content strictly for the purpose of operating the app for you and the other participants you share it with. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except where we must retain it as described in our Privacy Policy.
You confirm that content you upload:
- is yours to upload, or you have permission to upload it;
- does not infringe anyone’s rights and is not unlawful, abusive, or malicious;
- does not contain sensitive personal data about other people that they have not agreed to share.
8. Sharing and Permissions
AmigoBill is a shared app by design. When you add an expense to an event, the other participants of that event can see it — the amount, category, description, who paid, how it was split, and any attachment on it. Your username and display name are discoverable through in-app user search.
The person who created an event controls who else may act in it, and can grant permission to add expenses, to edit only one’s own expenses, or to manage the event. Granting someone a permission means trusting them with the records in that event. Only share expense details, receipts, and trip plans with people you trust.
9. AI Trip Planning
Trip itineraries are generated automatically by an AI model from the destination, dates, and preferences you enter. Because of that:
- Accuracy is not guaranteed. Generated plans may contain outdated, incomplete, or incorrect information.
- Generated plans are not professional advice — not travel, legal, medical, financial, or safety advice.
- Verify anything that matters — visa and entry requirements, opening hours, prices, bookings, health and safety conditions, and local laws — against official sources before you rely on it.
We are not responsible for decisions you make, costs you incur, or bookings you place on the basis of a generated itinerary.
10. Premium Subscription
AmigoBill offers an optional paid subscription, AmigoBill Premium, which unlocks additional features in the app. The core expense-splitting features remain available without a subscription.
10.1 Plans and what they include
Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription. The available plan lengths (for example monthly and annual), the exact price in your local currency, and the full list of features each plan unlocks are shown on the subscription screen inside the app before you confirm the purchase. Please read that screen — it is the description of what you are buying.
10.2 How billing works
Purchases are processed by Apple on iOS and by Google on Android. We never see or store your card details.
Auto-renewal at a glance
- Payment
- Charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal
- Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Renewal charge
- Your account is charged for the next period within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price of the plan you selected.
- Managing it
- After purchase, manage the subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID account settings or in Google Play → Subscriptions.
- Free trial
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription during that trial.
10.3 Where to manage your subscription
- iOS — Settings app → your name → Subscriptions, or the App Store → your account → Subscriptions.
- Android —Google Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Premium access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it is not refunded on a partial basis unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, Premium features stop being available and the app continues to work with the free feature set.
11. Refunds
Because Apple and Google are the sellers of record for in-app purchases, we cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests go to the store you bought through:
- Apple — reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google — Google Play refund support
Each store applies its own refund policy. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with statutory withdrawal or refund rights, those rights are not affected by this section. If a store refuses a request you believe is covered by such a right, contact us and we will help where we can.
12. Price Changes
We may change subscription prices. If the price of a plan you are currently subscribed to changes, you will be notified in advance through the app store and given the opportunity to accept the new price or cancel before it takes effect. Where the applicable store or law requires your explicit consent, your subscription will not renew at the higher price without it. Price changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.
13. Cancelling and Deleting
Deleting or deactivating your AmigoBill account does not cancel your subscription.
Your subscription is held by Apple or Google, not by us, so removing your account in the app does not stop the billing. To stop being charged you must cancel the subscription separately in your Apple ID or Google Play settings, as described in section 10.3. Do that before deleting your account. The same applies if you simply uninstall the app — uninstalling does not cancel anything.
You can deactivate your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. See our account deletion page for what happens to your data afterwards.
14. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful to other users;
- upload malware, or content that is abusive, harassing, obscene, or infringing;
- access another person’s account, or attempt to obtain data you have not been given access to;
- probe, scan, overload, or disrupt our servers or the app’s security;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
- scrape or harvest data from the service by automated means, or resell the service without our written permission;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with the purchase or entitlement checks that control access to Premium features.
15. Third-Party Services
AmigoBill relies on services operated by others — including Apple and Google for sign-in and in-app purchases, Firebase for notifications, analytics, crash reporting and performance monitoring, our hosting provider, and the AI provider used for trip planning. Those providers have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply to their part of the service. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, and the app may also open external apps such as a maps application or a browser at your request.
The services we use and the data each one receives are listed in our Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend the service temporarily for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We aim to keep the app available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
If we permanently remove a feature that was a material part of Premium while you are subscribed, you may cancel your subscription; where the law requires it, you may also be entitled to a proportionate refund for the remaining paid period, which you can request through the relevant store.
17. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using AmigoBill at any time and deactivate your account from the app. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or that puts other users or the service at risk. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will give you notice and an opportunity to put things right first.
If we terminate your account without cause while you hold an active paid subscription, you may request a refund for the unused remainder of that period through the relevant store. Sections 6, 7, 18, 19, and 21 survive termination.
18. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of inaccuracies, that calculations or AI-generated content will be correct, or that data will never be lost.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- disputes, debts, or payments between you and other users — see section 6;
- decisions taken or costs incurred on the basis of AI-generated itineraries — see section 9;
- indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data, or lost travel arrangements.
Where we are found liable, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for AmigoBill in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for a consumer’s mandatory statutory rights. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights granted to you by the mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence.
19. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your own country or to rely on your own country’s mandatory consumer protection rules, this section does not take that right away from you.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the app changes or as the law requires. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use AmigoBill after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and cancel any active subscription.
